Parenting by The Book - Bibical Wisdom for Raising Your Child

1. Kids need to learn 3Rs

Respect: respect legitimate authority
Responsibility: be responsible for his own behavior and take on responsibilities
Resourcefulness: take challenges, be insistent and not afraid of failure

2. Work with your spouse. The relationship between you and your spouse is more important then the relationship between you and your children.

3. Have a long term vision. What kind of person you would like your children to be when he is 30? Don't forget the vision even when he is only 2.

4. Time Frame

Serve : 0~2, secure their safety.
Lead: 3~13, help them to manage themselves, follow leaders, know what to do. Return to your spouse.
Guide: 13~21, help them to be independent, to learn practical skills.
Friend: 21~death, be their friend.

5. A disciplined child will have blessing and hope and walk on the way of life. This is a present you can give you your children.

6. Leadership: value people, lead by example, be visionary, be inspirational, help people to reach their full potential, make decisions and be persistent.

Give command, not demand.

7. Physical Punishment from age 2-6.

8. Command Communication; Compel Consequences; Confirm Consistency
